Part one of my guitar builds for the #greatguitarbuildoff un"official" entry.
All the body wood was purchased at my local wood store. Kencraft in Toledo, OH. If you are in the area and haven't been there. Please make a trip there, they have a good selection and are very reasonably priced.
Forgot to put this in with the last video. Just video footage, no narration.
Just video footage for this video. Finally got to use my pin router to make something, after owning it for three months now. I loved every minute of it and was well worth buying.
Finishing up the body, with neck pocket, pickup cavities and control cavity. Ending with final shaping of the outer shape of the body on the sander.
In this video, I buy commonly found items to make my own graphite shielding paint. The paint is used to shield the electronics in a guitar from RF signals that may cause hums. It may be worth nothing, many hums are created from things such as fluorescent lights or even your cabling being
This series of videos will be for the building of a custom order by one of my customers. In the first video we hollow out the body blank and attach the maple top.
In this video, we rout the trussrod channel. Then glue on the fretboard to the neck. Missed a couple steps prior due to forgetting to record. Also, missed the last part of this video which was doing dots on the board. Sorry folks, I dropped the ball again. I have limited time some nights in the shop, so I am in a bit of a hurry sometimes to get some work done.
Yes, I know not many of you have pin routers...why not? They are a great addition to you guitar building machinery. All the cool kids have them. This video shows one of the tricks of the pin router to do binding channels. Hope you enjoy, and keep looking for your own pin router.
In this video, we demo the Creamsicle. Featuring the playing of John Schwind. We would like to thank him for taking the time out of his day to do some pickin for us. We look forward to working with him in the future.
